The Saleeby Longevity Institute was founded
in 1998 by Yusuf (J.P.) Saleeby, MD a physician
with many years experience in Emergency Medicine and Urgent Care
Medicine and over five years of Occupational Medicine. Dr. Saleeby
is a 1991 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta,
Georgia and received post-graduate education in the department of
Internal Medicine at East Carolina University School of Medicine
in Greenville, North Carolina. Dr. Saleeby is currently co-director
of the Emergency Department at Liberty Regional Medical Center in
Hinesville, Georgia and is chief staff physician at the Federal
Occupational Health Center located in the Corps of Engineer Building
in Savannah. He is Medical Director of Research & Development
for Vita Sanus Nutraceuticals and is co-founder of Vita Sanus, Inc.
which oversees clinical research trials at the Saleeby Longevity
Institute location.
Dr. Saleeby has always subscribed to the
philosophy of prevention as the primary objective of a practicing
physician. He is a strong advocate of treating the "whole"
patient. He spends considerable time with each of his clients until
they have sufficient knowledge of their disease state and how lifestyle
changes and/or medication will impact them. Dr. Saleeby is interested
in providing his clients with the best and most advanced programs
that modern clinical medicine has to offer with an integrative approach.
He spends considerable time developing and researching programs
and protocols used at the SLI. Dr. Saleeby is also adjunct professor
of medicine for the department of graduate studies in nursing at
Georgia Southern University. Dr. Saleeby writes extensively for
local medically oriented news columns and is a regionally recognized
speaker on the topics of longevity and anti-aging medicine. In 2003
Dr. Saleeby was elected as one of 40 influential business leaders
under 40 years of age in the Lowcountry. Hobbies include wine collecting
and Olympic style weight lifting as he participates with Team Savannah
and competes regularly. He placed first in the Georgia State Games
in his masters 94Kg class in 2002.
